| The night was partly cloudy, but we were still getting useful science data, as this beautiful orange moon rose over the eastward mountains at about midnight. I took the picture from the catwalk of the old 2.1m telescope, which unfortunately is about to be shut down for lack of funding. |
Technical Details:Taken using Nikon D3200 camera with 70-300mm zoom lens at 300mm. Cropped and re-pixelated from the full frame. This picture accurately represents the visual appearance of the scene as viewed through binoculars. |
